Transcribe the video you're watching — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest — in one click, no copying links. The transcript, with word-level timestamps, opens right in the popup; from there, copy the text, download subtitles, or open the full analysis in your library. Same account, same library, same limits as the app — nothing new to set up.

Install it in three steps

  1. Add it to Chrome. Open the JustTranscribe listing in the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome. Pin the icon if you want it always visible.
  2. Sign in once. Click the icon and sign in with your JustTranscribe account, or create a free one with Google in one click. Nothing else to configure.
  3. Open a video and click the icon. On a public YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest video page, click the JustTranscribe icon. The transcript appears in the popup, usually within a minute, with Copy, SRT download and a link to the full analysis in your library.

How it works

On a public video page, clicking the JustTranscribe icon sends only that page's video link to your account — the same request the site makes when you paste a link yourself. The transcript appears in the popup, usually in about a minute, with buttons to copy the text, download SRT subtitles, or open the full analysis (AI summary, key moments, translation into 111 languages, DOCX/PDF export) in your JustTranscribe library. A short history of recent transcriptions stays in the popup for one-click reopening.

There are no content scripts and nothing is read from the pages you visit — the extension only ever sends the video link you chose to transcribe.

Limits & behavior

  • Public video pages only — no private or login-required videos, no live streams.
  • Same account, same library and the same beta limits as the app.
  • English and Spanish extension UI, matching your browser language.

FAQ

Is the Chrome extension available now?

Yes. JustTranscribe — Video to Text is published in the Chrome Web Store (version 1.0.0, September 2026). Add it to Chrome, sign in with your JustTranscribe account and click the icon on any public video page.

Does it need a separate account?

No — it uses your existing JustTranscribe account and library. Transcripts made from the extension show up in the same library as the ones you make on the website.

Which sites does it work on?

Public YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest video pages — the same platforms the app fetches from a pasted link. On any other page it tells you there is no video to transcribe.

Does it read what I browse?

No. It has no content scripts and reads nothing from the pages you visit — clicking the icon sends only the current tab's video link, the same one you would otherwise copy and paste.

Is it free?

Transcribing is free with a free account — sign in with Google in one click (or with email), no card needed. Files up to 150 minutes and 500 MB, unlimited transcripts during the beta.

Does it work in other browsers?

It is published for Chrome. Chromium-based browsers that install from the Chrome Web Store (Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc) generally accept it too, but only Chrome is tested.
