JustTranscribe

YouTube Transcript

To get the transcript of a YouTube video, paste the link in the box below. JustTranscribe fetches the audio, transcribes it with word-level timestamps, detects the language automatically, and lets you search, summarize, translate and export the text.

It works on public videos and Shorts up to 150 minutes (40 minutes for the first transcript without an account) — and it does not depend on captions: the audio itself is transcribed, so talks, classes and interviews without subtitles work too.

First transcript free, no account. Public videos up to 150 minutes.

How it works

1

Copy the video link

Tap Share on YouTube and copy the link, or copy it from the address bar. Shorts links work too.

2

Paste it here and wait a few minutes

We fetch only the audio, transcribe it with word-level timestamps and detect the language automatically.

3

Use the text

Search inside the transcript, click a segment to jump to that moment, read the AI summary, translate into 111 languages, or export TXT, SRT, VTT, CSV, Markdown, PDF or DOCX.

Formats & limits

What works and what doesn't:

  • Public YouTube videos and Shorts, up to 150 minutes (40 without an account).
  • No captions needed — we transcribe the audio.
  • Private, age-restricted or login-only videos can't be fetched.
  • The same box takes TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and public Google Drive links, or an uploaded file.
  • Translate the finished transcript into 111 languages; speaker labels on request.
  • The first transcript is free with no account (up to 40 minutes); after that, a free account raises the limit to 150 minutes and 500 MB per file — unlimited transcripts during the beta, no card needed.

Frequently asked questions

Doesn't YouTube already show a transcript?

Only when the video has captions, and usually it's YouTube's auto-generated text: no punctuation, misspelled names, and blocks that are awkward to copy. Here the audio is transcribed with word-level timestamps, readable sentences and file exports.

Can I transcribe a two-hour video?

With an account, up to 150 minutes per video. The first transcript without an account accepts up to 40 minutes. For longer videos, split them or download the audio and upload it in parts.

Does it work for videos in other languages?

Yes. The language is detected automatically, and you can translate the finished transcript into 111 languages.

Can I get just a summary?

Yes. Next to the transcript you get the AI analysis: main idea, summary, key moments with their timestamp, and you can ask the video questions and get time-referenced answers.

What if the video is private or won't load?

Private, age-restricted and login-only videos can't be fetched. If a public video fails, try again in a few minutes; if it keeps failing, download the audio and upload it as a file.

How much does it cost?

Yes. The first transcript is free with no account (up to 40 minutes); after that, a free account raises the limit to 150 minutes and 500 MB per file — unlimited transcripts during the beta, no card needed.

Need more than one transcript?

A free account keeps them all in a searchable library — with speaker labels, translation into 111 languages, exports and the AI summary. No card during the beta.
