SRT Subtitle Generator
To generate subtitles for a video, upload the file (or paste a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram link). JustTranscribe transcribes the audio with timestamps and lets you export the result as SRT or VTT — ready for YouTube, a video editor or a web player.
Need subtitles in another language? Translate the transcript into any of 111 languages before exporting. First transcript free, no account.

How it works
Upload the video or paste the link
MP4, MOV, WEBM or MKV, or a public YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest link.
Review the transcript
It comes with word-level timestamps in readable sentences. Fix names or doubtful words by clicking the segment to hear that spot.
Export SRT or VTT
SRT for YouTube and most editors, VTT for the web. For subtitles in another language, translate first.

1 00:00:03,000 --> 00:00:13,900 Jane, we've got one more item for you when you get a chance. We'd like you to stir up your cryotanks. In addition, I have a shaft and trunnion for a look at the Comet Bennett if you need it. 2 00:00:15,300 --> 00:00:27,100 Stand by. Houston, we've had a problem here. 3 00:00:30,000 --> 00:00:40,300 Can you say again, please? Houston, we've had a problem. Main B bus undervolt. 4 00:00:41,900 --> 00:00:48,900 Roger. Main B undervolt. Stand by, 13. We're looking at it. 5 00:00:49,900 --> 00:01:01,400 Okay. Right now, Houston, the voltage is looking good. We had a pretty large bang associated 6 00:01:01,400 --> 00:01:10,600 with the caution and warning there. And as I recall, Main B was the one that had a amp spike on it once before. 7 00:01:12,600 --> 00:01:13,300 Roger, Fred.

Frequently asked questions
What is an SRT file?
A plain-text file with numbered subtitles and the in/out time of each line. YouTube, video editors and almost every player accept it.
SRT or VTT?
SRT for YouTube and video editing; VTT is the format for web players (the HTML video tag). We export both.
Can I generate English subtitles for a Spanish video?
Yes. Transcribe in Spanish, translate the transcript into English (or any of 111 languages) and export the translated SRT.
Can I fix a subtitle line?
Yes. Edit the segment in the transcript before exporting, or open the SRT in a text editor — it's plain text.
Does it work for TikTok or Instagram videos?
Yes, with the public link. Private or login-only videos can't be fetched.
How much does it cost?
Free during the beta: the first transcript without an account, then a free account, no card required.
