WhatsApp Voice Note to Text
To transcribe a WhatsApp voice note, save or forward the audio and drop it into the box below — the .opus or .ogg file works as is, no conversion. JustTranscribe turns it into text with timestamps, detects the language, and lets you copy, translate or export it.
Useful for the long ones: a client's twelve-minute message, a professor's instructions, a family update in another language. First transcript free, no account.
First transcript free, no account. OPUS/OGG accepted directly.

A real .opus voice note, transcribed unedited

Frequently asked questions
Doesn't WhatsApp transcribe voice notes itself?
Newer versions can, on the phone, once you enable it — but only inside the chat, in a limited set of languages, with no export and no timestamps. For long audios or for text you need in a document, upload the file here.
Do I need to convert the file to MP3?
No. OPUS, OGG, M4A, AAC, MP3, WAV and FLAC are accepted directly. Converting adds a step and can degrade the audio.
Can I transcribe a voice note in another language?
Yes. The language is detected automatically, and you can translate the transcript into 111 languages afterwards.
Can I do this from a computer?
Yes. Download the audio from WhatsApp Web or the desktop app and drag it into the browser at justtranscribe.ai.
Is it free?
Yes. The first transcript is free with no account (up to 40 minutes); after that, a free account raises the limit to 150 minutes and 500 MB per file — unlimited transcripts during the beta, no card needed.
