We transcribe it

The spoken language is detected and transcribed word by word with timestamps; then the AI writes a summary and maps the key moments. Long recordings take a few minutes more.

Word-level timestamps mean search results, quotes and summaries all point to an exact moment — one click seeks the player. Speaker labels are a click away when more than one person talks; pace tinting shows where the delivery speeds up, slows down or pauses.

Studying a video? You get the breakdown, too

Paste a public YouTube, TikTok or Instagram link and, next to the transcript, you get why the video works: the hook and its promise, the scene-by-scene structure, pacing and persuasion techniques — plus answers grounded in what was actually said, with clickable timestamps. Built for creators and marketing teams; out of the way if all you need is the text.

FAQ

Questions people ask before the first transcript

Is JustTranscribe free?

Yes. The first transcript is free with no account (up to 40 minutes); after that, a free account raises the limit to 150 minutes and 500 MB per file — unlimited transcripts during the beta, no card needed.

What can I transcribe?

Audio and video files up to 500 MB — MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG/OPUS (WhatsApp voice notes), FLAC, MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV — and public links from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Google Drive. Private or login-only videos can't be fetched; if you have the file, upload it instead.

Which languages does it support?

The spoken language is detected automatically — Spanish, English, Portuguese and dozens more — and you can translate the finished transcript into 111 languages.

How accurate is the transcript?

Clear audio with one speaker comes back close to final, with word-level timestamps. Noisy rooms, people talking over each other and heavy jargon need a read-through: treat any automatic transcript as a working draft and use the timestamps to check the parts that matter.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in the browser on a computer or a phone — there is no app or extension to install.

What happens to my files?

They stay in your library so you can come back, search and re-export them; you can delete any transcript, or your whole account, at any time. Transcription runs on OpenAI's speech-to-text and the analysis on Anthropic's Claude, under their privacy terms — the details are in our privacy policy.

Can I export the transcript?

Yes — TXT, SRT, VTT, CSV, Markdown, PDF and DOCX, with optional timestamps and speaker labels.

Does it label who is speaking?

Yes. Turn on Speakers in the transcript view and each segment gets a speaker label — useful for meetings, interviews and classes with questions from the room. It's on demand, so a one-voice recording stays simple.
